Liverpool are reportedly on the brink of securing their second signing of the January transfer window, having 'reached a verbal agreement' to bring in Senegal Under-17 international Mor Ndiaye. If a deal is completed, he will become the Reds' second defensive addition this month.
Ndiaye, who celebrated his 18th birthday on Tuesday, is currently registered with Amitie Football Club in Senegal, a club owned by ex-Newcastle United and Chelsea forward Demba Ba. The news of Liverpool's verbal transfer agreement was broken by Fabrizio Romano on X, formerly Twitter.
The left-sided central defender recently represented Senegal at the Under-17 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, where they topped their group before being knocked out in the round of 32 by Uganda.

As per The Liverpool ECHO, it's expected that Ndiaye would go straight into Liverpool's Under-21 squad, which is managed by former Wales boss Rob Page.
This move could pave the way for 19-year-old Amara Nallo, who has been sent off in both of his senior appearances for the Reds so far, to go out on loan and gain some much-needed playing experience.
This agreement comes following reports about the signing of Ifeanyi Ndukwe from Austria Vienna this January, making Ndiaye the club's second recruit this month.
Just last week, it was said that the 17-year-old has already agreed to a move to Merseyside. He is another young talent who shone at the U17s World Cup, playing a key role for Austria, who battered England 4-0 in the round of 16 before eventually finishing as runners-up to tournament champions Portugal.
However, according to the ECHO, Anfield bosses are still hammering out the details of this transfer and Ndukwe's arrival is only being scheduled in time for the start of 2026/27 pre-season training in July - after his 18th birthday.

Despite being just eight days into the January transfer window, Liverpool appear to be making significant strides in the youth market, particularly with regards to defenders.
Many are focused on their senior options at the back, especially given that Ibrahima Konate is now in the final six months of his Reds contract and transfer target Marc Guehi is becoming increasingly popular among their rivals.

The England international is set to depart Crystal Palace either this month or when his contract runs out this summer, following his failed £35m move to Anfield on the summer 2025 deadline day.
Adding to Liverpool's concerns, The Mirror report that Premier League leaders Arsenal are the latest club to prepare their bid as Manchester City and Bayern Munich also pose strong competition.
