Romano Confirms "Verbal Agreement" Is In Place As Liverpool Secure Next Signing

Liverpool are expected to secure the signature of Amitie FC centre-half Talla Ndiaye, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Writing on his X account, Romano confirmed that the Reds have secured a “verbal agreement” to bring the Senegalese youth international to Anfield.

It follows on from claims made by another reporter, Saikou Seydi, who revealed earlier this week that the Merseysiders were closing in on a move for Ndiaye.

As the defender turned 18 a couple of days ago, he can make the switch to England straight away. UK clubs can only officially sign players from abroad if they are 18 or above.

What do Liverpool fans need to know about the player?

Ndiaye played a prominent role as Senegal made it through to the knockout rounds of the Under-17 World Cup in Qatar.

The teenager was part of a defence that didn’t concede a goal in the group stages against Croatia, Costa Rica and the UAE, but he could not prevent his country losing 1-0 to Uganda in the round of 32.

As Ndiaye is left-footed, he can play as either a centre-back or left-back, although he does generally favour playing in the middle of defence.

Ndiaye is not the only young defender being signed

It was announced yesterday that the Reds had snapped up former Burnley centre-half Noah Adekoya. He had been a free agent since leaving Turf Moor at the beginning of November.

The 19-year-old is expected to become part of Rob Page’s Under-21 squad for the second half of the campaign.

In addition to Ndiaye and Adekoya, there is believed to be an agreement in place to bring in Ifeanyi Ndukwe from Austria Vienna this summer. The youngster is expected to officially move to Merseyside when he turns 18.
