Arsenal attacker Kai Havertz was not spotted with the Gunners squad earlier today on their pre-match walk ahead of the Liverpool game, according to insider Connor Humm.
Humm, an Arsenal insider who regularly breaks news on the Gunners and is followed on X by the likes of Dharmesh Sheth, Ryan Taylor and Fabrizio Romano shared the update this evening.
The former Sky Sports producer has been spot on with some of his scoops in the past and it is safe to say Havertz will not be featuring for manager Mikel Arteta at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
Arteta had claimed that the German is very close to returning to action after training on Wednesday morning with the rest of the team.
However, it appears the game against Liverpool tonight will come earlier for him, and fans may have to wait until Sunday to see him return.
Arsenal visit Portsmouth in the third round of the FA Cup this weekend before visiting Chelsea for the first-leg of the semi-final of the Carabao Cup next Wednesday.
Havertz has struggled with injuries all season, but it would not surprise many if he gets to be named in the squad tonight.
Arteta has a knack for keeping his cards close to his chest when it comes the fitness of his players, and the German not involved in the team walk today could be a deliberate attempt to leave the opponents guessing.
Havertz has not played since August when he featured for 30 minutes in the opening game of the campaign against Manchester United.
He has suffered setbacks twice and will hope to finally return before the end of the month as the Gunners could do with his services right now.
