Liverpool defied the form book to pick up a battling point on the road agaist Arsenal at a rainy Emirates Stadium.
Not many had given the Reds any hope before kick-off, with the Gunners sitting 14 points clear of them in the Premier League.
But Liverpool turned up and dug in, putting in arguably their best performance for some time to secure a creditable 0-0 draw. After the dross served up by Arne Slot‘s team of late, this was better. Here’s how we rated the players in North London.

Defence

Alisson Becker: 7 – Had to be alert to save several low efforts in the first-half and showed off his expert handling to deny Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice notably. Continued to show safe hands during the second period.
Conor Bradley: 7 – Provided the Reds best moment of the first-half with a good run following by a brilliant dink over David Raya which came back off the bar. Generally good defensively.
Ibrahima Konate: 8 – Konate has improved recently and that carried on here with another commanding display. Kept Viktor Gyokeres completely quiet and remained composed throughout.
Virgil van Dijk: 7 – Like Konate never really looked especially troubled by the Arsenal front line.

Milos Kerkez: 8 Man of the Match – Was not perfect and lost a couple of his battles with Saka, but Kerkez at it. One absolutely crucial last ditch challenge denied the Arsenal No. 7 a certain goal in the first-half and he got better in a defensive sense as the match wore on. Arguably the £40m man’s best display in a Liverpool shirt.

Midfield
Ryan Gravenberch: 7 – Looked a little shaky towards the beginning of the game but really grew into things in the second-half. The Gravenberch turn finally looks to be coming back and he kept Declan Rice largely quiet.
Alexis Mac Allister: 6 – Started sluggishly in midfield, inexplicably setting up a high ball for a 50/50 with a number of Arsenal players, which he inevitably lost to set the Gunners on the attack. Still looks unsure in possession and was also beaten far too easily by Saka to all him to make a dangerous pull back. Better in the second-half with one mazy run on the edge of the Arsenal box a particular highlight.

Dominik Szoboszlai: 6 – Worked hard as ever but struggled to make an impression on the game. Fired a long-range free-kick well over and couldn’t find his range, having a couple of efforts blocked.
Attack
Jeremie Frimpong: 6 – Looked like the main Liverpool threat in the first-half and made a nuisance of himself in the lead-up to Bradley’s effort off the bar. Thought he should have had a penalty after a tangle with Piero Hincapie. Got in several times in the second period but his final ball continued to let him down.
Florian Wirtz: 6 – Arne Slot was questioned for playing Wirtz centrally and it did not especially pay off at the Emirates. Was neat and tidy but offered little to danger Arsenal’s defence. Should have had a penalty for a weaving run before being taken out by Trossard.
Cody Gakpo: 5 – Just doesn’t look like he’s offering anything at all to the attack. Battled hard and held the ball up well at times but still looks a poor fit.
