Two things Martinelli did to spark huge brawl between Arsenal and Liverpool

Gabriel Martinelli sparked a mass brawl during the second half of Arsenal's clash against Liverpool. Conor Bradley suffered an ankle injury towards the end of the game, but the Gunners winger showed no sympathy.

He threw the ball at the Reds defender, who was curled up on the turf clutching his leg and slapping the ground in discomfort, before trying to push him off the pitch. Bradley had landed awkwardly after trying to clear his lines.

Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister leapt to their teammate's defence, confronting Martinelli for his misconduct. Gary Neville was equally disappointed, describing the Brazil international's behaviour as 'disgraceful'.

Speaking on Sky Sports from the gantry at the Emirates Stadium, the Manchester United legend said: "It didn't look good. Something's gone - just before he kicked it, it went."

Neville added: "Oh you can't push him off the pitch. You cannot do that, you idiot. That's so poor. I'm surprised the Liverpool players haven't gone over and had a right pop at him. I think an apology is needed."

A few moments later, Neville suggested that a Liverpool player should 'whack' Martinelli. He said: "He's thrown the ball at him as well. Yeah, it's no good. Gonna be stretchered off Conor Bradley, and it's a sad sight.

"He's someone who has had injuries. He's got those hands over his face and I'm actually fuming with Martinelli, to be honest. I don't know how Liverpool players didn't go over and whack him to be honest with you, and take a red card. Absolutely disgraceful that."

Speaking on Sky Sports after the game, Szoboszlai condemned the actions of Martinelli. The Liverpool midfielder said: "I see that Conor twisted his knee, I don't know what's going on with him.

"He didn't want to come back to the pitch for time wasting. He was in so much pain he couldn't see where he can roll. Then you come there to push him...

"I understand you want to win, we want to win but the health of a player is much more important than something else."

Keane also slammed Martinelli, having been in a similar situation himself as a player. The Manchester United legend said: "I didn't like it at all. Happened to me once before.

"It's not good. First of all throwing the ball on him, standing over him. He's got a bit of a knee in him, he's trying to force him off."
