After a summer spending spree of around £250million, Arsenal seemed poised for a quiet January transfer window. The club made six permanent signings ahead of the current campaign with Viktor Gyokeres, Martin Zubimendi, Eberechi Eze, Christian Norgaard, Kepa Arrizabalaga all joining before Piero Hincapie was signed on loan.
The successful recruitment strategy led by sporting director Andrea Berta is reflected in the Gunners' league standing, with only unique market opportunities likely to prompt winter window additions.
Bournemouth's Antoine Semenyo, with his £65million release clause, was one such opportunity and as a lifelong Arsenal fan, he might have favoured a move to Emirates Stadium. However, Manchester City look to have secured his services.
Pep Guardiola's team are also eyeing Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi following a defensive injury crisis, but Arsenal have made their stance clear after Oliver Glasner's candid comments about his future. In addition to bolstering the senior squad, Arsenal are keen to significantly upgrade the options in their academy.
Blackburn Rovers' 18-year-old forward Igor Tyjon has emerged as a key target, with moves being made to sign him after he turned down a new contract at Ewood Park. With all this in mind, football.london brings you the latest Arsenal transfer news and rumours.
Arsenal re-enter Guehi race
The Mirror, sister title of football.london, has learned that Arsenal remain transfer admirers of Marc Guehi. The England international has previously been linked with Liverpool, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, before Manchester City declared their interest.
There was a fondness for Guehi in north London last summer, but the decision was made to sign Cristhian Mosquera instead. However, those within the club still rate Guehi highly, though it is more likely they wait until the summer, as per The Athletic.
This significant news follows Palace manager Glasner's candid comments about the possibility of selling Guehi this month.
He stated: "I'm not naive. If a massive offer comes from City and Marc wants to do it, it will happen. If you're just valuing sports, everyone in the club will say Marc has to stay. The chairman will tell you the same. But it's not one-dimensional. If you see the financial situation, it's very important.

"If somebody comes, there will be a moment when the club says 'now the financial issue is more important than the sports issue'.
"There will be a threshold where the club has to say it will happen - as long as Marc says 'I want to leave', because the final decision is always with the player."
Tyjon 'bids submitted'
Arsenal have already had several offers for Igor Tyjon turned down by Blackburn Rovers.
The Gunners have shown interest in the young forward, who is also adept on the left wing, since last summer. The Sun reported that several offers exceeding £1million were rejected.
However, this hasn't deterred Arsenal with recent reports suggesting they are still keeping tabs on the England U18s star and a fresh proposal is expected this month.
