“As it stands” – Fabrizio Romano reveals how Liam Rosenior feels about current Chelsea squad

Liam Rosenior is happy with the Chelsea squad as it stands, but Chelsea could do something if the right opportunity arises according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 41-year-old watched from the stands on Wednesday night as Chelsea lost 2-1 against Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Rosenior was confirmed as Chelsea’s new head coach on Tuesday, and has signed a six and half year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have reportedly told Rosenior Champions League qualification is critical, and he knows he’s got a huge job on his hands.

The Blues currently sit eighth in the league, and are on a run of just one win in their last nine league matches, and Rosenior has got to stop the rot.

The January window is now open, and the squad does need improving, but David Ornstein has stated he expects Chelsea to be quiet.

Rosenior is inheriting a talented squad, but one with obvious gaps and flaws in it, and Romano has shared how the new boss feels about it.

“Chelsea are calm and happy with their squad, also Rosenior is happy with the squad as it stands,” he told Give Me Sport.

“If there is an opportunity in the market to bring an important player, then Chelsea could act, but it’s a calm situation right now.”

“Chelsea left the conversation for Semenyo because they weren’t convinced on the numbers of the deal and understood he wanted Man City.”
