Real Madrid survived the Madrid Derby against Atlético de Madrid in the Spanish Supercup Semifinal, and while Kylian Mbappé is set to rejoin the squad in Saudi Arabia and looks to be ready to feature in the Final, several other players might be forced to miss El Clásico against Barcelona.
Defender Antonio Rüdiger was questionable heading into the Derby, but ultimately decided to play. As of right now, it looks like the German defender is ‘doubtful’ for El Clásico, which means that Xabi Alonso will likely need to think of other options for his defensive line.
Rodrygo Goes and Raúl Asencio also experienced some physical problems during the Derby and needed to leave the game. They will get some treatment during Friday and Saturday but their availability for El Clásico is still in question.
All things considered, it looks like coach Xabi Alonso will be forced to make some tough decisions regarding his starting lineup against Barcelona.
