The latest claims have stated Chelsea are back in the mix as they’ll make another attempt with a lucrative offer.
Friday’s edition of Marca relays that and then provides both Barcelona and López’s stance on Chelsea. It’s acknowledged that the Blues did offer €40m during the summer, which was rejected.
Marca state the La Liga winners ‘know nothing about’ the Club World Cup winners making a fresh approach. They also have no intention of letting the 22-year-old leave.
Barcelona insist the player’s valuation is much higher than what it was last summer, but there’s no figure mentioned.
Fermín was well aware of the competition at Barcelona and interest shown by the Premier League side.

The Spain international ‘ignored’ Chelsea in the summer despite some urging him to join them. He didn’t entertain the English club as he wanted to succeed at Barcelona.
López’s decision has paid off as he has eight goals and eight assists from 20 matches this season.
Marca state: ‘He is where he wants to be, he is a decisive player, and he is one game away from winning a title with the club he loves.’
This indicates he’ll ignore Chelsea again if they were to make a fresh signing attempt.
