U18s preview: Arsenal v Leicester City

Our under-18s return to action in the new year as we welcome Leicester City to Sobha Realty Training Centre in the Under-18s Premier League South on Saturday, January 10. Kick-off is scheduled for 11.30am (UK time).

Before the festive break, the young Gunners secured their place in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup with an impressive 4-1 victory over Mansfield Town. That result set up an [away tie against Manchester City](https://www.arsenal.com/news/fa-youth-cup-fourth-round-opponents-confirmed), which will be our next fixture following Saturday’s encounter and will take place on Friday, January 16.

### The opposition

This will also be Leicester City’s first outing of the new year. The Foxes currently sit sixth in the table with 19 points from 11 matches, having won six, drawn one and lost four.

They ended 2024 in emphatic fashion with a 6-3 away win over Norwich City before the Christmas break. One player to watch is forward Lorenz Hutchinson, who has enjoyed an excellent campaign so far, scoring 12 league goals in just 10 appearances.

Our most recent meeting with Leicester came last season, when we ran out 5-3 winners. Max Dowman grabbed a hat-trick on that occasion, with Brando Bailey-Joseph and Alex Marciniak also on the scoresheet.
