Gary Neville noticed something different about Milos Kerkez after watching his performance against Arsenal

Liverpool came away from the Emirates with a point, extending their unbeaten run across all competitions to 10 matches.

The title race is still over, but at least the Reds have managed to keep their top-four place for the time being.

It was by no means a season-defining showing from Arne Slot’s side, but several people have come out and praised Liverpool following the Arsenal draw.

Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, the former full-back admitted he has been critical of Kerkez this season.

However, he stated that the Hungarian looked much better when up against Bukayo Saka in midweek.

He said: “Kerkez, who I’ve been critical of during this season for his way in which he settled into the Liverpool team, I thought he really stuck at it and was competitive and really sort of getting at Saka and sort of really aggressive in his defending, lower and a bit more fierce.

“So I thought he did well too.”

Neville isn’t the only one to question the Liverpool left-back following his summer move, with former manager Alan Pardew previously suggesting that Kerkez had been found out.

However, the ex-Bournemouth man seemingly just needed some time to adapt to his new club and is now thriving at Anfield.

Milos Kerkez maxed out one statistic vs Arsenal

Kerkez has commented on his improved form in the last month or so, and despite not playing in front of Florian Wirtz against Arsenal, he was still pretty good.

As per Sofascore, the left-back made seven defensive contributions against Mikel Arteta’s side.

Rather impressively, he won four out of four tackles made on the night and was victorious in five of his seven ground duels.

Kerkez was dribbled past on one occasion, but was still largely able to keep Saka at bay before the Englishman was replaced late in the second half.
