Liverpool’s hard-fought 0-0 draw against Premier League leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night has been overshadowed by a devastating knee injury to Conor Bradley, with the Northern Irish full-back stretchered off in stoppage time after a controversial incident involving Gabriel Martinelli

The Reds produced a resolute defensive display to become only the second team this season to avoid defeat at the Emirates, but the result came at a cost. Bradley went down clutching his knee in the dying moments of the match, and when Martinelli attempted to push him off the pitch to resume play, tensions erupted between both sides.

Manager Arne Slot delivered a worrying assessment after the match: “I don’t know yet, but it doesn’t look great when you have to go off on a stretcher. I think when we see the video we probably both think the same, but we have to wait on the scans”. The defender left the stadium on crutches and wearing a knee brace, with Liverpool fearing the worst.”

The draw extends Liverpool’s unbeaten run to ten games across all competitions.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta said last night that he will have a “word” with the Brazilian winger”

“Knowing Gabi, if anybody knows Gabi, he’s an incredible, lovely guy. And probably he didn’t realise what happened. I hope that Conor as well, I will have a word with him now, with him, to understand that. But probably he didn’t recognise what happened.” said the Arsenal boss.

Speaking about the game at large, the Spanish boss lamented the fact this side were not able to come out with a win:

“Well, we’re disappointed because we wanted to win the game,” he said. “But I think overall, with the domination and the situations that we created in the first half, we should have come out of that in a winning position, and that’s the margins in this game.

“You’re not going to dominate the whole game against the champions, because they are a really good side.

“But when we have them there and created a situation where we’re having the best spaces to put the ball, find somebody and put the ball in the back of the net, and we didn’t do it.
