Arsenal’s attacking depth is absolutely fantastic at the moment, but recent reports have suggested they could lose winger Ethan Nwaneri, as Bournemouth want to sign him as a replacement for Antoine Semenyo, who has joined Manchester City.
If Nwaneri does leave, the Gunners may need to look for a potential replacement for the young winger, and reports are linking them to a Bundesliga wonderkid.
Arsenal join Man United and Tottenham in race for Diomande
Premier League interest in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande has been growing and growing as of late, with the 19-year-old really impressing in the Bundesliga. He has made 16 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring seven goals, and providing four assists.
Diomande has been a regular fixture in the Leipzig starting XI, and he’s also managed to break out in the Ivory Coast national team too. A lot of big clubs in Europe are said to be keen on the winger, including Bayern Munich, PSG and Barcelona.
Premier League interest in him is also high, as the Athletic via the Standard claim that Arsenal, Man United and Tottenham are all interested in signing the winger. The report claims he could cost up to £86m due to his very high potential.
It’s a huge transfer fee, but based on his development so far, there is no reason to suggest why Diomande can’t become one of the next world-class attackers. He can play on either wing, or as a striker, which also increases his value.
The Gunners may have to wait until summer to sign Diomande
Despite the draw of coming to the Premier League surely being very attractive to the 19-year-old, it doesn’t look as though the winger will be moving in the January transfer window.
It is understood that Leipzig have no intention of letting Diomande leave in January, as his contract doesn’t expire until 2030, so it would take a very big offer to tempt them to sell him this month.
