Arsenal Women manager Renee Slegers has extended her contract with the club until the summer of 2029. The Dutch coach was initially on an 18-month deal set to expire this summer but has extended for three and a half years.
This follows the news that Jodie Taylor has been appointed as Technical Director. Our understanding is that this agreement with Slegers has been in place for some time with the winter break giving the opportunity to finalise the paperwork.
Slegers joined the coaching staff at Arsenal as an assistant in the summer of 2023 and stepped into the hot seat on an interim basis when Jonas Eidevall left the club in October 2024. After a period of strong performances, Slegers was awarded the job on a full-time basis in January 2025 and went on to guide the club to their second Champions League trophy in May 2025.

Since taking over, first on an interim basis and then as our permanent head coach, Renée has proved to be an elite coach with the capabilities to lead us as we continue to challenge to win major trophies.
