Liverpool transfer news as Federico Chiesa continues to be linked with Juventus.

Federico Chiesa is keen on a return to Juventus, reports suggest.

The winger has endured a difficult time since he joined Liverpool from the Old Lady in August 2024. Signed for £10 million, Chiesa has been down the pecking order at the Reds and he has made just two Premier League starts. This season, Mo Salah, Cody Gakpo and summer arrivals Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike have all been ahead in the pecking order, as well as Jeremie Frimpong since his return to fitness.

Chiesa is a cult hero among Kopites and his attitude has never been faulted. But he is a bit-part player at Anfield and was left on the bench for the 0-0 draw at Arsenal on Thursday night. With the World Cup taking place in the summer, he may be keen to play regularly and break his way back into Italy's squad should they qualify.

A number of Serie A clubs have been linked. However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, Chiesa would like to move back to Juventus. It is suggested by the outlet that moving to Turin is something that he 'wanted to jump on immediately' although he is not forcing Liverpool for an exit.

It is claimed that 'negotiations between Juventus and the Reds have begun, and negotiations are underway to find a compromise that satisfies everyone'. However, with Salah currently representing Egypt at the African Cup of Nations and Isak sidelined for the next couple of months with a broken leg, it makes the situation complicated.

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Juve would like a loan deal but Liverpool are looking for a permanent exit.

In addition, transfer reporter Nicolo Schira has suggested that the Reds would be looking for a fee between £10.5 million and £13 million for Chiesa. That would represent a profit on the price that Arne Slot's side paid 17 months ago. Napoli and AS Roma are also said to be keen.

Schira posted on X: “Federico #Chiesa has opened the door to return to SerieA. #Juventus are at the window. #Napoli and #ASRoma had also asked info for him in the last days. #Juve have opened talks with his agent, but have not submitted a bid to #Liverpool yet. #LFC ask 12-15M to sell him.”
