**The Barclays WSL returns from the festive break this weekend, kicking off with a massive clash between Arsenal Women and Man Utd.**
Either Arsenal or Manchester United could move into second place with a win on Saturday. The visitors head into the match with just one league win in four ad without Gabby George, Ella Toone and Leah Galton but new signings Hanna Lundkvist and Lea Schuller are expected to be ready.
Leaders Manchester City face 10th-placed Everton on Sunday, while second-placed Chelsea host next-to-bottom West Ham.
Spurs welcome Leicester – to whom they just sold Ashleigh Neville – and could potentially climb to third, Aston Villa sit a point behind their seventh-placed visitors Brighton, and Liverpool are still chasing their first win as they take on mid-table London City.
WSL 2’s first game of 2026 is the south coast derby between Southampton and Portsmouth, with the Saints four places and five points better off than bottom-but-one Pompey.
Ipswich are five points adrift at the foot of the table and host top team Charlton, who lead by a similar margin from Birmingham City, who travel to a Newcastle side three points behind them.
Nottingham Forest take on third-placed Bristol City with three points also separating them, while Durham host a derby with Sunderland, whom they would leapfrog with a victory.
