Virgil van Dijk appeared to fire a subtle dig at Arsenal following Liverpool’s 0-0 draw at the Emirates on Thursday night. The reigning Premier League champions had the better of the game against the current league leaders as they extended their unbeaten run to 10 games.
While the Reds would fail to register a shot on target, they did come closest to scoring when Conor Bradley was denied by the crossbar in the first half.
The stalemate saw Liverpool extend their advantage in fourth to two points over fifth-placed Brentford, while also maintaining their lead over the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United after they once again dropped points.

Van Dijk took to social media after the final whistle as he posted a series of images on social media, including a heart-warming message he had received from the Reds mascot on the night.
But the Dutchman also appeared to fire a subtle dig in the way of Arsenal on Instagram as he included a close-up picture of the golden Premier League winner’s badge on the sleeve of his shirt - reminding the Gunners of Liverpool’s current status as champions as they failed to score, never mind beat, Arne Slot's side for the second time this season.
Van Dijk was not the only Reds star to take to social media after Thursday night’s draw.
Milos Kerkez also took to his own Instagram account to send his support to Bradley after the Liverpool defender was stretchered off with what the Reds fear will be a serious injury.
Uploading a picture of himself alongside Bradley in the warm-up, Kerkez tagged his team-mate and posted both a praying hands and love heart emoji.
Meanwhile, the Hungarian was one of a number of Liverpool players who admitted he felt that the Reds deserved more than just a point at the Emirates.
“Feel we deserved more but I am proud of my teammates,” Kerkez wrote on Instagram. “This is Liverpool mentality, thanks for great away support.”
Alexis Mac Allister echoed such sentiments on his own Instagram account, writing: “Feels like we deserved more against a good side. A lot to improve but better feelings going forward. Come on the Reds”.
Florian Wirtz also took to Instagram following the game as he shared his pride in his team’s performance and sent a message to supporters.
“We wanted more but still proud to be part of this Team!” he wrote. “Thanks for the away support”.
