Liverpool were unable to get the better of Premier League leaders Arsenal in their meeting on January 8.
The match started off in concerning fashion for the Reds, who sat very deep and had players like Cody Gakpo acting as makeshift defenders whenever the Gunners were on the attack.
Liverpool improved in the second half, while Arsenal were pretty flat-footed and created very little.

Milos Kerkez and Roy Keane disagree on Arsenal vs Liverpool result
Speaking to Sky Sports in the aftermath of the fixture, Roy Keane suggested Liverpool didn’t deserve more than a draw because of how little they created.
He said: “Liverpool didn’t deserve more than what they got because obviously, you’ve got to put the ball in the back of the net. They lacked that cutting edge.”
However, left-back Kerkez, who was praised by Gary Neville for his showing against Bukayo Saka, has a different opinion.

Statistic proves Roy Keane is right about Liverpool
While some may argue Liverpool were the better side, at least in the second half, Keane is right about Slot’s men not deserving more than a point.
Kerkez, Ibrahima Konate and the rest of the backline did a stellar job keeping Arsenal’s attack quiet.
But as has become a common theme in the last month, Liverpool lacked that cutting edge in the final third.
In fact, the away side failed to attempt a shot on target over the course of 90 minutes against Arsenal. That is the first time that has happened to the Reds in the Premier League since they faced Wigan Athletic on March 8, 2010.
How can you deserve to win when you don’t even manage a single shot on goal? Hugo Ekitike may have made a difference if fit, but hindsight is a wonderful thing.
