Fabian Hurzeler has backed two players who suffered nightmare moments at Manchester City.
[Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/?ref=au)’s head coach says both Diego Gomez and Yasin Ayari have the desire to learn from mistakes.
Gomez conceded a penalty and missed an open goal in the 1-1 draw at the Etihad.
Ayari’s errors were less costly as he got away with two bad passes in his own box.
But he was clearly distraught when he was substituted.
Ayari also played a part in Kaoru Mitoma’s goal to follow his own well-taken strike against Burnley last Saturday.
Asked initially about Gomez's miss, Hurzeler said: “I think he had a big chance against Liverpool and we saw his reaction afterwards.
“He kept going and he will keep going and I think that's his attitude.
“He's always there to have these kinds of chances, and I think that's the most important, that he gets an understanding how important it is to attack the opponents' box and to be in this position.
“And then, of course, it's an unlucky moment.
“Everyone wants to score. I think it's a similar chance to what he had against Liverpool but, for me, the most important is that he keeps trying, keeping being there, keep staying alive.
“The same is for Yasin. I think he had two individual errors against City, but that's our way of playing and we really try to give these kinds of players the support they need to improve.
“That's what we have to do also in phases where they are not scoring, where they do individual mistakes.
“That's our way and therefore we really need to push them.
“I see players who really want to improve.
“They really want to learn from these kinds of things and therefore I see a Diego with a brilliant effort, I see a Diego with a brilliant attitude towards football, with a brilliant attitude towards his own development.
“And I'm sure that he will get back to scoring goals because he's always a danger for us.”
