Team: Memphis Grizzlies
Position: PG
Age: 26
Height: 188 cm
Weight: 79 kg
Birth place: South Carolina, United States of America
Multiple teams have already shown interest in the dynamic point guard, and league insiders believe Memphis would prioritize draft picks and young talent in return.
Morant, 26, is signed through the 2027-28 season, giving the Grizzlies flexibility in how they approach their roster.
While the team has several promising young players emerging, including 2023 Defensive Player of the Year Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis remains open to either keeping Morant as their centerpiece or pivoting to a new direction.
This season, Morant has played 18 games, averaging 19.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 7.6 assists per contest. His shooting has struggled, hitting 40.1% from the field and just 20.8% from three-point range.
Despite these numbers, Morant’s playmaking and explosiveness keep him among the league’s most exciting guards.
The Grizzlies currently sit 10th in the Western Conference with a 16-21 record. With the February 5 trade deadline approaching, Memphis is weighing its options carefully, deciding whether to continue building around its young core or leverage Morant’s talent for long-term assets.
