Arsenal have announced that Renée Slegers has signed a new long-term deal with the club.
With the final six months of her contract remaining, this would have been one of the priorities of the winter transfer window for the Gunners as they look to build on her first 12 months in charge. It will keep the Dutch native at the club until 2029.
The 36-year-old has been a part of the club in a coaching capacity since summer 2023, having previously played for the Arsenal Academy. After taking over from Jonas Eidevall on a permanent basis last January, she guided the team to a historic UEFA Women’s Champions League victory in May. Arsenal also finished second in the Barclays WSL and remain unbeaten at home.
“From playing in the academy and being in the stands watching Arsenal win the Champions League in 2007, to living it with our players, staff and supporters last summer, I’m immensely proud to have shared this journey with Arsenal, a club that means so much to me and to so many people,” Slegers said. “I’m delighted to have signed a new contract here, as I believe we have so much to achieve together – this season and in the years to come. I’d like to show my gratitude to our supporters for the incredible backing you give us, whether it’s at Emirates Stadium, Meadow Park or on the road. We hear it, we see it and we feel it every day.”

Elsewhere, Jodie Taylor has been appointed as the new Technical Director of the women’s team, moving on from her previous role as Technical Services Manager.
