As many await when he can finally represent the Wizards, the focus remains on Trae Young to fully recover from injuries.
The official start of the Trae Young era in D.C. might still take some time.
Washington Wizards / Schedule
Addressing the media on Saturday, Brian Keefe told reporters that the Washington Wizards' main priority right now is to let their newest star fully recover before determining a potential debut this season.
Young won't be playing for the Wizards' upcoming home matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans due to a right quad contusion and a right knee MCL sprain.
Before being traded by the Atlanta Hawks, Young only appeared in 10 games this season. He is averaging 19.3 points in 41.5 percent shooting along with 8.9 assists.
"I've been playing through some injuries. Doing these physicals here, they wanna make sure I'm right… and I do too," he said. "I'll just leave it up to them to let you know when I'm coming back. Hopefully soon."
Boasting an incredibly young and talented core led by Alex Sarr, the Wizards (10-26) will be even more thrilling once Young finally clears his ongoing recovery.
