'I feel for him': Jaren Jackson Jr. breaks silence on Ja Morant trade rumors

As he sympathizes with Morant amid distracting trade rumors, Jackson Jr. still offered his appreciation to his Grizzlies co-star.

Jaren Jackson Jr. is completely aware of the sudden noise that surrounded Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies. As such, he can only sympathize with his co-star out of the uncertain future he's facing within the franchise.

Following the Grizzlies' 117-116 Friday home loss against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Jackson Jr. offered significant words about the recent Morant trade rumors.

"I mean, the business of basketball takes a toll, and I told him that," Jackson Jr. said. "I think we’ve seen it all. We’ve seen so many different things. That’s my brother. I’m always feeling for him. It’s a tough thing, man. But he still showed up to the game. He’s still around. You can understand the mood with something like that, especially with someone like him who’s viral for freaking anything.

"It’s just intense, man. I’ve always said he’s always had to deal with it. We’re all grown up in the public eye, but it’s just intense."

Jackson Jr. stands as the most familiar ally of Morant in Memphis. Both players have been together since 2019, serving as the new cornerstones of the franchise following the "Grit 'n' Grind" era.

Under their lead, the Grizzlies have found relative success by making it to four postseason appearances since 2021. In 2021-22, they matched the Grizzlies' all-time record for most wins in a single season (56) and earned a trip to the Western Conference Semifinals.
