The January transfer window looks set to burst into life as Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all target high-profile new signings for the second half of a busy season. Arsenal are rumoured to have enquired over PSG star Bradley Barcola, while they may also move for Marc Guehi amid the latest links to Tino Livramento, Romeo Ritter, Jeremy Jacquet and Igor Tyjon, among others.

A new era officially gets underway at Chelsea this weekend and reports claim that new boss Liam Rosenior is seeking a reunion with Strasbourg star Valentin Barco. The Blues could also beat Arsenal to the signing of Konstantinos Karetsas, while they may revisit their interest in Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez and chase a deal for AC Milan striker Rafael Leao. Manchester United are holding talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer today over returning to Old Trafford as interim manager and are said to be serious contenders in the race for Elliot Anderson.

Arsenal hold Barcola talks

Arsenal have enquired over the potential signing of Bradley Barcola, reports claim.

The French forward’s future at the Parc des Princes has been subject to much speculation of late, with a host of clubs said to be interested in his services including Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal are one of the many clubs to have held initial talks with intermediaries over Barcola to see if they can yet win the crowded race for his signature.

However, it is thought that any move for the 23-year-old will occur in the summer.

Brentford have agreed an £8.7million deal with Club Brugge to sign Kaye Furo.

That is according to Sky Sports who claim the Bees have won the race for the talented Belgium Under-21 striker’s signature.

Villa explore Gallagher deal

Aston Villa are exploring a deal to bring Atletico Madrid and England midfielder Conor Gallagher back to the Premier League.

According to reports, Atletico will consider offers of around £35m for Gallagher.

Gallagher has fallen out of favour under Diego Simeone this season and is eyeing regular game time in the second half of the campaign to keep his World Cup dream alive.

Solskjaer set for new Man United talks

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set for more talks over the vacant Man United job.

According to TalkSport’s Ben Jacobs, he will meet the club’s hierarchy on Saturday about stepping in until the end of the season.

Hull City have contacted Man United to request conditions for the loan of Toby Collyer.

So reports Fabrizio Romano, who adds the club are not likely to make a decision on the player’s future until a new manager is in place.

Spurs reach Souza agreement

Standard Sport understands the 19-year-old Santos talent will move for £13million, and the player will travel to undergo a medical this weekend.

It took Spurs two bids to win the Brazilian club over, with the first offer of around £8m swiftly rejected.

The £13m fee is still a considerable discount on Souza’s €100m (£87.1m) release clause.

Done deal! Leo Castledine completes Chelsea exit

A done deal over at Chelsea, who have now confirmed Leo Castledine’s permanent move to Middlesbrough.

The 21-year-old has joined the Championship promotion contenders on a four-and-a-half-year contract for an undisclosed fee after recently being recalled from a productive loan stint in League One with Huddersfield.

“We thank Leo for his efforts throughout his time at Chelsea and wish him every success as he embarks on a new chapter in his career,” Chelsea said.

The Blues are also said to have recalled injured American left-back Caleb Wiley from a loan spell at Watford.

Souza set for Spurs medical

Souza to Tottenham has now been given the patented “here we go” treatment by Fabrizio Romano.

He says a verbal agreement has been reached with Santos over a €15m (£13m) transfer.

Souza is set to travel to north London on Sunday to undergo a medical, with personal terms agreed.

The Brazilian left-back, 19, is said to have agreed a five-year contract at Spurs.

According to TalkSport, the former Chelsea midfielder can count Unai Emery among his admirers.

He now plies his trade at Atletico Madrid having been sacrificed by the Blues in the name of pure profit.
