Newcastle United XI v Bournemouth as Eddie Howe makes seven changes with Man City in mind -…

The Magpies fought to the very end against Leeds United in midweek and were rewarded for their efforts after stoppage-time goals from Bruno Guimaraes and Harvey Barnes earned a dramatic 4-3 win.

A big physical effort, coupled with Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final first leg tie at home to Manchester City, is expected to result in several changes against the Cherries.

“I have to give a compliment to the players, fitness-wise,” Howe said. “I think we've been really good this year, especially when you consider the multi-competitions we're in, the style that we try to implement and how the players adapt to that.

“With the schedule that we've had, it's incredibly difficult. If you look at us the other day, I felt we were the stronger team physically in the latter stages, which is a credit to the professionalism, the work the sports science team and the medical team do with the players, and our mentality. So I was really, really pleased with that aspect.

“I think it would be wise for us to use the squad in certain games, and we've tried to do that throughout the season. You haven't seen the same 11 consistently. It's been little tweaks without trying to lose the feeling that you need, I think, to perform at the very highest level.

“We'll review this game individually and try and make the right selections.”

Here’s Newcastle United are predicted to line-up:
