Bristol City sign Arsenal forward Gale on loan

Bristol City have completed the signing of Arsenal forward Jessie Gale on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club website this morning.

The 19-year-old joined the Arsenal academy at the age of 17. She has won the FIFA Youth Cup and the Professional Game Academy League Under-21 Division One title with The Gunners. Gale has also trained with the senior team.

In the last 18 months, Gale has gained experience away from Arsenal. She netted seven goals in 21 outings in a dual-registration spell at Watford last season before scoring five goals in 15 games whilst on loan at Portsmouth in the first half of this season.

The England youth international has bags of potential and she will now hope to shine at Bristol City.

Joining The Robins, Gale said “I’m really excited to be here, it’s such an ambitious club and after speaking to the manager and players it sounds like a really exciting journey to be a part of.

“The recent investment from Mercury13 is really important but also the club is fighting for promotion, and you want to be part of a team that’s in match winning games.”

Gale is Bristol City’s second January transfer window addition.
