Spurs injury report: Victor Wembanyama good to go for Celtics game

BOSTON — The Spurs will be with their All-Star in Victor Wembanyama as they face the Celtics at 8 p.m. Saturday at TD Garden. Wembanyama has dealt with minutes restrictions and recent injuries, but him not being listed on the injury report is a positive sign. Julian Champagnie (back soreness) is questionable while Devin Vassell (left adductor strain) is out for Saturday’s game.

[The Celtics beat the Raptors](https://www.masslive.com/celtics/2026/01/4-takeaways-as-celtics-beat-raptors-with-impressive-offensive-showing.html) on Friday in Boston on the first leg of a back-to-back. That means their injury report won’t be out until later Saturday. Josh Minott missed his second straight game due to an ankle sprain in the victory over the Raptors. The C’s have been healthy otherwise (other than Jayson Tatum).

Wembanyama suffered a bone bruise in his left knee last week, which forced him to miss two games. But he returned in the loss to the Grizzlies on Tuesday, then played the next day in a win over the Lakers on Wednesday. But he was on a minutes restriction for both games, not playing more than 26 minutes in either contest.

Wembanyama was slowed down by a left calf strain earlier this season, forcing him to miss a month. But he returned, albeit on a minutes restriction for that injury, as well. So he hasn’t had a great opportunity to string together games without anything slowing him down.

Regardless, the Spurs just keep on winning. They enter Saturday’s game with a 26-11 record, good for second in the West. [Former C’s big man Luke Kornet](https://www.masslive.com/celtics/2026/01/former-celtics-center-makes-surprise-visit-to-garden-before-return.html) will also be back in Boston. He’s been a strong addition for San Antonio when Wembanyama is unavailable. The C’s bring in their 24-13 record into Saturday’s game.
