In an important development for FC Barcelona, SPORT reports that the Catalans are making progress in their bid to secure the future of teenage La Masia gem Ebrima Tunkara.

The 15-year-old Juvenil A player and the club are aligned in their desire to continue together, all but ensuring the continuity of one of the most exciting talents in the academy.

Ebrima is happy at Barcelona because the club has always shown complete confidence in him, while the Blaugrana view his development with great optimism.

The left-footed winger dreams of succeeding at Barça and wants to keep progressing at the club he has played for since pre-benjamin level.

Barcelona, for their part, want Ebrima to commit to the club for the coming years so he can continue climbing through the ranks and eventually break into the first-team dynamics.

As per the report, the agreement over a new contract is not yet closed or signed, but the strong harmony between both sides suggests that Ebrima’s future will remain tied to the club.

Despite still being only 15 years old, Ebrima is already playing for Barcelona’s Juvenil A (U19) setup under manager Pol Planas. He has featured in 10 league games and scored four goals for the team. Meanwhile, he has also played in three UEFA Youth League matches.

Planas has mainly been using Ebrima as a right winger, a relatively new position for him, where he has provided good dribbling, assists, and goal threat.

The Spanish-Gambian player is very fast and powerful, has an excellent change of pace, and boasts a high-quality left foot. He is also capable of playing as an interior midfielder.

When Ebrima turns 16 years old on 10 March, he will be eligible to sign his first professional contract with Barcelona. And, as things stand, everything is on track for both parties to formalise the youngster’s continuity.
