Ndiaye will initially link up with Rob Page’s U21 squad with a view to breaking into Arne Slot’s side.

Elsewhere, while yet to be announced, a deal for Ifeanyi Ndukwe is understood to be done, and the player is set to link up with Liverpool this summer after spending the remainder of 2025/26 on loan.

But Ndukwe and Ndiaye are not thought to be the only young talents being eyed by the Merseyside outfit.

Liverpool looking at Mateus Mane

According to journalist Dean Jones, Liverpool have an interest in 18-year-old attacker Mateus Mane.

However, he does suggest that Wolverhampton Wanderers will not be sanctioning a sale in the current window.

He said: “One thing that is catching my eye is Mateus Mane at Wolves. I know it’s not going to be in this transfer window, but there is no way that Wolves go into next season without an intense battle.

“Liverpool are the club I’ve heard about, I think that’s because the representative he’s with already have a few players at Liverpool, but he’s going to be hard, if not impossible, to hold onto, isn’t he?”

Mane is under contract until 2029 and, despite his tender years, is already showing signs he has the potential to be a top Premier League player.

Is winning the FA Cup enough to keep Arne Slot in a job beyond 2025/26? If not, why? 🤔

Rob Edwards’ verdict on Mateus Mane after Liverpool clash

The teenager broke into the Wolves first-team this season, already notching 10 appearances in the Premier League.

Despite the Midlands outfit being on course for relegation, he has scored two and assisted two in said matches.

Mane played against Liverpool at the end of December 2025, receiving high praise from Rob Edwards, who dubbed the versatile centre-forward ‘brilliant’ post-match.

He said: “Mane I thought was excellent throughout the game, so him moving inside then caused them a lot of problems, and we found him a lot in between the lines, and he was able to create.

“I thought his energy was brilliant, his running was brilliant, but he was brave; he took the ball; he was a real shining light in what was obviously a difficult period for the club at the moment.

“He took risks, he had shots, he dribbled, he turned and played forward. But not only that, he showed real desire to run and fight as well.”
