RB Leipzig superstar Yan Diomande has revealed his dream transfer destination amid rampant speculation that he will complete a €100 million move in the summer.

The Ivorian has emerged as arguably Europe's most wanted player this season. In 2024, Diomande was still playing amateur and academy football in the US and getting rejected by various clubs, including Rangers.

He joined Spanish side Leganes in January 2025 and, despite the club's relegation to the second tier, impressed enough to prompt RB Leipzig to spend €20m on him in the summer.

This was an inspired decision from the Bundesliga side as the 19-year-old has exploded this season. Diomande has notched seven goals and four assists in 16 appearances for the Red Bulls so far this term and has become a full-fledged Ivory Coast international.

All of Europe's biggest clubs have been keeping tabs on the teenager in recent months. Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd, Liverpool, PSG, Bayern Munich and more have been linked with Diomande.

Diomande reveals dream transfer

Transfer insider David Ornstein has confirmed reports from Germany that Diomande is likely to fetch a fee in the region of €100m in the summer, with a January move deemed highly unlikely as Leipzig are under no pressure to sell.

Now, one club in particular appear to have been given a massive boost in pursuit of the Ivorian winger. Speaking during an Instagram livestream, Diomande has revealed that he dreams of playing for Liverpool.

“I want to play at Anfield, I want to play for Liverpool,” Diomande revealed. “I’m a big Liverpool fan. My father’s dream is to see me play for Liverpool.”

This will be music to the ears of Reds bosses as they need reinforcement on the wings, having failed to adequately replace Luis Diaz after his move to Bayern Munich in the summer.

The left-wing position has been a major bone of contention between Arne Slot and director Richard Hughes this term. The former wanted a suitable replacement for Diaz in the summer, while the latter demanded that Rio Ngumoha be given regular playing time.

Diomande is capable of playing on both flanks, but it is worth mentioning that he has been significantly more effective on the right. He could therefore also potentially be a long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah.

Diomande, of course, isn't the only target on the Reds' shortlist. A deal for Bradley Barcola was explored in the summer, but PSG refused to sell. A reliable source has revealed that Barcola's future will become a "topic" in the summer, while PSG want to extend his contract.
