Two Premier League clubs interested in signing Liverpool defender

There is interest building in signing the defender.

Two Premier League clubs have expressed interest in signing the Liverpool defender with the January transfer window now well underway.

Liverpool’s transfer business when it came to their backline drew some attention in the summer, with a lot of re-shuffling taking place.

Jarell Quansah, who existed on the periphery of Arne Slot’s side last season, permanently left to join up with Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.

Trent Alexander-Arnold left for Real Madrid, and full-backs Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez joined the club to create a new-look back four.

Giovanni Leoni was brought to provide cover for Konate and Van Dijk, but his debut was cut abruptly short when he tore his ACL and was sidelined for the rest of the season.

A deal with Marc Guehi was inches away from completion, before Crystal Palace pulled the plug on deadline day.

With Andy Robertson still at the club, and one of the best left-backs last year joining the club in Milos Kerkez, Kostas Tsimikas saw the prospect of him securing regular minutes for the Reds this season disappear.

He decided to move elsewhere and joined Serie A side AS Roma on loan for the season.

However, things are not going to plan for the Greek international, who is not impressing Roma boss Gian Piero Gasperini, and there have even been talks of cutting hi loan deal short.

With that in mind, Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has revealed that Tsimikas could leave Roma, with two unnamed Premier League clubs interested in signing him in January.

Kostas Tsimikas has featured in just nine Serie A games this season, and that will no doubt increasingly frustrate the defender as time goes on.

It is looking increasingly more likely that Tsimikas will return from Italy in the near future, with a move to a fellow Premier League club very much on the cards.

Two #PremierLeague’s Clubs have shown interest in Kōstas #Tsimikas, who is currently at #ASRoma on loan from #Liverpool but the greek fullback is not central in #Gasperini’s Plans and so he could leave in January’s transfer window. #transfers #LFC
