Manchester City 10 (Max Alleyne 11′, Rodri 24′, Nathan Ake 41′, Jack Fitzwater (OG) 45+1, Rico Lewis 49′, 90+1, Antoine Semenyo 54′, Tijjani Reijnders 71′, Nico O’Reilly 79′, Ryan McAidoo 86′)

Exeter City 1 (George Birch 90′)

Here are the City player ratings as Manchester City booked their place in the fourth-round of the FA Cup with 10-1 win over Exeter City at the Etihad Stadium today. The gulf in class between the two teams stood out across the match. But Pep Guardiola’s side did exactly what they had to do to avoid any potential boil over.

Antoine Semenyo made his Manchester City debut and grabbed a goal and an assist. Ryan McAidoo also debuted for City and capped off his great performance with a goal. There was plenty to take from the match for Pep Guardiola’s. The most pleasing part was perhaps the performances from a host of City academy players.

The City player ratings reflect Manchester City’s performance. Exeter City tried hard, and George Birch’s stunning late strike was something for them to take out of the match. But Pep Guardiola’s side had too much class and that told throughout the game.

City player ratings

**James Trafford-7/10:**Made one good early save to prevent Exeter City taking a shock lesd. Was good throughout and could do little about George Birch’s fantastic strike.

**Rico Lewis-9.5/10:**Bagged a brace and did exactly what he needed to do today. His play in the final third was superb and that display should do Rico Lewis the world of good.

**Abdukodir Khusanov-7.5/10:**A typical Khusanov performance. Made a few strong challenges and I liked his overall game.

**Max Alleyne-8/10:**The young defender scored his first goal for Manchester City to open the scoring. I liked his work in possession and there are shades of John Stones in the way he moves and plays on the ball.

**Nathan Ake-6.5/10:**Scored a goal that he knew nothing about. Ake got forward well although Exeter City did look to get in behind him at left-back.

**Rodri-7/10:**He looked rusty in the first twenty minutes but grew into the game. Rodri scored a screamer and his leadership did stand out while he was on the pitch.

**Tijjani Reijnders-8/10:**His class stood out throughout the match. Reijnders was too much for a valiant Exeter City side to handle and his second-half goal capped off a good performance from him.

**Ryan McAidoo-9/10:**He grabbed a goal on his Manchester City debut and his energy and dribbling ability out wide stood out throughout the match. He was very good for the full 90 minutes.

**Rayan Cherki-8.5/10:**Cherki picked up assist and playing as a number ten suited his game. He gets a high score for his leadership which stood out all afternoon.

**Antoine Semenyo-9/10:**A superb debut from Semenyo. He scored a goal and grabbed an aassist his work out of possession was brilliant. There will be bigger games to come for Semenyo but his Manchester City debut was very impressive.

**Erling Haaland-6/10:**Haaland was well contained outside of one chance in the first-half before he was taken off at halftime.

Substitutes

Stephen Mfuni-7.5/10: He looked right at home coming on at halftime and slotting in at left-back. Mfuni has a big future and he didn’t look out of place in the City first team.

Divine Mukasa-6.5/10: Mukasa had some nice touches and he did picked his first Manchester City assist today. I’d like to see him get more involved but that will come in time.

Nico O’Reilly-6.5/10: Grabbed a goal and that was pleasing to see.

Bernardo Silva-6/10: Cruised through the game’s closing stages after coming on.

Jeremy Doku-7.5/10: Was busy after replacing Semenyo and he now looks to be fully fit.
