Before Golden State's recent game against the Sacramento Kings, Stephen Curry paid tribute to Hall of Famer Chris Webber.
Stephen Curry led the Golden State Warriors to a 137-108 victory over the Sacramento Kings on January 9th. He finished with a game-high 27 points and also had 10 assists.
Before the game, Curry paid tribute to Hall of Fame player and former Kings star Chris Webber. When Curry entered the Chase Center, he was seen wearing a specific pair of shoes. Curry was wearing the “Chrome” DaDa Supreme CDubbz shoes that Webber wore during the 2002 NBA All-Star Game.
Only fitting that Curry wore those shoes against the Kings and it was a nice gesture from the four-time NBA champion.

Current players like to honor former players in a variety of ways. Whether it’s wearing that former player’s jersey or a shirt with a photo of them, there are a variety of ways that these players like to pay their respects.
For Curry, he decided to get creative and bring out those vintage shoes. Back in the mid 1990s to 2000s, the DaDa brand was a popular shoe in the basketball world. Webber debuted his CDubbz model shoe during the All-Star Game in 2002.
Players like to bring creativity to the game and allow fans to see the type of style they have. Webber did just that when he brought those shoes out during the All-Star Game. Over the course of the season, Curry has been seen wearing different shoes as he currently is a free agent in the shoe game.
It won’t be a surprise if he decides to pay tribute to a former or current NBA player again by wearing a specific shoe. A few days ago, when the Warriors took on the Los Angeles Clippers, Curry laced up in the Jordan CP3.VII paying tribute to Chris Paul. A few other shoes that he’s wore this season have been the Reebok Shaqnosis and the Nike Pennys.
Chris Webber Had an Impressive Career in Sacramento
Webber put together a decorative Hall of Fame career. The five-time All-Star finished his career averaging 20.7 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.2 assists. He spent most of his career with the Kings spending six seasons there.
During his time in Sacramento, Webber was a part of a Kings franchise who was one of the top teams in the Western Conference. Webber played in six consecutive playoffs with Sacramento and was one game away from playing in the NBA Finals in 2002.
Earlier that season, Webber started in the All-Star Game debuting his specialized DaDa shoes. He finished with eight points, three rounds, and four assists. In February of 2009, the Kings retired Webber’s No. 4 jersey. He made a significant impact during his time in Sacramento and will be always remembered as one of the best to ever put on a Kings jersey.
Curry and Webber both have something in common, playing for the Warriors. Webber played his rookie season with the Warriors and was named the Rookie of the Year in 1994. It will be interesting to see what other shoes Curry decides to wear this season and who else he pays tribute to.
