Chelsea fans already show frustration at Liam Rosenior with chant during win vs Charlton - journalists

A rotated Chelsea side were far too good for Championship outfit Charlton Athletic as they won 5-1 in the FA Cup third round.

Liam Rosenior got off to the perfect start to life in his new job, with him taking his first game since becoming the permanent replacement for Enzo Maresca.

Jorrel Hato impressed the new manager with his first goal for the club, whilst Tosin Adarabioyo and Marc Guiu also found the net.

Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez both came off the bench to add to the tally, leaving plenty to forget that the Blues were frustrated for large portions of the first half against their lower-league opposition.

It took a lot of patience and probing before Hato eventually gave Chelsea the lead in stunning fashion, and the club’s away supporters started to grow frustrated with what they were witnessing.

Journalist Nizaar Kinsella stated that the away fans were looking for more from their players in the final third, a request Josh Acheampong immediately tried to fulfil.

He said: “Chelsea’s away fans are chanting ‘attack, attack, attack.’ Josh Acheampong stings the goalies palms with an edge of the box shot moments later.”

Many of these disgruntled supporters were cheering by the end of the game as the goals continued to fly in, and the Blues can now look ahead to the rest of their busy January schedule.

All eyes on Chelsea vs Arsenal

Rosenior will not have long to celebrate his first win in charge of Chelsea, with the Blues looking ahead to their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg against Arsenal.

The boss got a look at 16 of his players in total against Charlton, including Andrey Santos who he favoured when in charge of Strasbourg.

He started ahead of Fernandez, who made things look easy when he came off the bench in the latter stages.

It remains to be seen if he did enough to keep his starting place in the huge game at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, especially with Moises Caicedo suspended.
