Arsenal are expected to be one of the quieter Premier League clubs in this January transfer window after spending around £250million in the summer. Their major additions included striker Viktor Gyokeres, wingers Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze, as well as midfielder Martin Zubimendi.

Mikel Arteta's side sit comfortably at the top of the Premier League - six points clear of Manchester City and Aston Villa in second and third respectively. The team have delivered consistently strong performances this season, in contrast to reigning champions Liverpool, who are 14 points back in fourth.

Having fallen short in recent title races, Arsenal now have a huge opportunity to finally lift the Premier League trophy for the first time since 2004. While they are not expected to be particularly active this winter, sporting director Andrea Berta and his team are always exploring opportunities for further investment, with Marc Guehi among those emerging as potential reinforcements.

Guehi is free to engage in conversations with clubs abroad, having entered the final months of his deal at Crystal Palace.

Tino Livramento 'battle'

Arsenal and Manchester City are reportedly preparing to go head‑to‑head for Newcastle full‑back Tino Livramento this summer.

Interested clubs have already been warned they will need to pay in excess of £60million - the figure touted last year. According to The Sun, talks over a new contract have yet to begin, despite his current deal running until 2028.

Eddie Howe views the full‑back as a key asset, and securing fresh terms is believed to be a 'priority' at St James' Park. Arsenal are expected to have a quiet January window but may revisit defensive reinforcements at the end of the season.

City, meanwhile, have held long‑standing interest in Livramento and are 'considered serious contenders' for his signature ahead of next season.

Livramento – who was forced off with an injury in the FA Cup third round victory over Bournemouth on Saturday – joined Newcastle from Southampton in a £30m deal in the summer of 2023.

Bradley Barcola 'talks'

TEAMtalk claim that Arsenal have enquired over the possibility of signing Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 23-year-old is believed to be attracting interest from the Premier League, with the likes of Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool also keen in his services.

Arsenal are said to be 'one of the many' clubs to have held 'initial' talks with intermediaries over Barcola in an attempt to get ahead of competition. However, any move is only likely to happen in the summer.
