One Man Utd target has named Liverpool as his dream destination after a reported bid from the Red Devils earlier this week

Manchester United target Yan Diomande has said that he is a ‘big Liverpool fan’ and wants to play at Anfield after a reported £78m bid from the Red Devils this week.

A report earlier this week claimed the Old Trafford club had made an offer for the RB Leipzig forward, who is currently starring in the African Cup of Nations for Ivory Coast alongside Amad Diallo, and who has 11 goals and assists in 16 appearances so far this season.

While United have reportedly made a firm move to sign him, Diomande himself has green lit a move to Merseyside rather than a move to Old Trafford.

A video of Diomande during an TikTok Live video has emerged on social media. He is talking in French but the translation suggests that Diomande says Reds fans and dreams of fulfilling his father’s wish.

Diomande said: "I want to play at Anfield, I want to play for Liverpool. I’m a big Liverpool fan. My father's dream is to see me play for Liverpool."

Speaking about the player recently, Fabrizio Romano said the summer is when RB Leipzig are more likely to sell. Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “One player that is driving several clubs completely crazy, who’s playing in January, is Yan Diomande, the winger at RB Leipzig.

“Leipzig don’t want to sell the player in January and will do their best to keep him in January. Many clubs are following him like Manchester United, who I have told you about already. United are following Diomande and [are] really interested in him for the future, tracking him. For the moment they’re just monitoring the player.

“Tottenham and PSG are also following Diomande. I’m told that more Premier League clubs are tracking the situation. It’s going to be an interesting topic, the future of Diomande. My personal opinion is this is more for the summer than January, but in terms of money, it’s going to take a big amount. I don’t think €60-70m (£52-61m) will be enough to convince Leipzig, it’s going to have to be higher.”

Speaking about Diomande, United man Diallo said of him: “Yan is a very good player; everyone knows that. We’re also very close off the pitch, so that makes things easier on the pitch.”
