Liam Rosenior got his Chelsea career off to a winning start following his side’s 5-1 victory over Charlton Athletic in the FA Cup on Saturday.
Goals from Jorrel Hato, Tosin Adarabioyo, Marc Guiu, Pedro Neto and Enzo Fernandez sent Chelsea into the fourth round of the competition.
Rosenior was impressed with his team’s performance, with the 41-year-old having plenty of praise for several players after the full-time whistle.

According to the new Chelsea manager, Guiu was “magnificent”, scoring the Blues’ third goal of the night.

Pat Nevin claims players love to play with Marc Guiu
Former Chelsea winger Pat Nevin also liked what he saw from Guiu at The Valley and not just because the young striker managed to get his name on the scoresheet.
Commentating on the game for the BBC, Nevin said: “Marc Guiu might not score a lot of goals but he works hard. He is a player that other players love playing with because his hard work creates space for you.”
Guiu’s goal against Charlton was just his second of the season in a blue shirt after being overlooked by former manager Enzo Maresca.

The 20-year-old was recalled from his loan at Sunderland at the start of the campaign following an injury to Liam Delap, but he was barely used by Maresca.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was not too impressed with Guiu after Chelsea’s 3-1 triumph over Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals, but he showed much improvement in the Charlton game.

Marc Guiu’s numbers vs Charlton
For large parts of the game, Guiu was quiet, with the Spaniard not having many touches of the ball.
According to Sofascore, Guiu took just 16 touches before being replaced by Delap in the 69th minute. However, he still managed to register one assist, one key pass and a couple of shots on goal.
His most important contribution, though, was finding the back of the net. Hopefully that can give Guiu a confidence boost ahead of a massive match next Wednesday.
Chelsea take on London rivals Arsenal in the first leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final tie. Guiu is unlikely to start that game, but perhaps he will be able to make an impact coming off the bench.
