Despite shelling out around £250million this summer on key signings; including striker Viktor Gyokeres, wingers Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze, as well as midfielder Martin Zubimendi, Arsenal are expected to have a quieter January transfer window.
Mikel Arteta's team currently sit atop the Premier League standings, six points clear of Manchester City and Aston Villa in second and third place, respectively. This season has seen the Gunners deliver consistently strong performances, contrasting with reigning champions Liverpool, who trail by 14 points in fourth position.
With recent title attempts falling short, Arsenal now find themselves with a golden opportunity to pick up the Premier League trophy for the first time since 2004. While significant activity is not expected this month, Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta and his staff remain vigilant for potential investment opportunities, with Marc Guehi emerging as a possible target.
Guehi, whose contract at Crystal Palace is nearing its end, is free to engage in discussions with overseas clubs.

Tino Livramento 'battle'
A summer showdown is reportedly brewing between Arsenal and Manchester City for Newcastle full-back Tino Livramento. Clubs interested in signing him have been warned that they'll need to fork out more than £60million, though - the price tag which was set last year.
The Sun has reported that contract renewal discussions have yet to kick off, despite his current agreement set to run until 2028.
Newcastle's gaffer Eddie Howe views the full-back as a key player and reportedly, securing a new contract is high on the agenda at St James' Park.
Arsenal are expected to have a subdued January transfer window, but they may reassess their defensive line-up when the season concludes. City have long been fans of Livramento, and are considered 'serious contenders' for his signature ahead of the next campaign.
Livramento, who sustained an injury during Newcastle's FA Cup third round victory over Bournemouth on Saturday, transferred from Southampton to Newcastle in a £30m deal in the summer of 2023.
Bradley Barcola 'talks'
In other news, TEAMtalk reports that Arsenal have shown interest in Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola.
The 23 year old has piqued the interest of several Premier League clubs, including City, Chelsea and Liverpool.
