Chelsea are among the Premier League teams tracking RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande and FC Cologne’s Said El Mala, according to Bild reporter Christian Falk.
Writing on his website CF Bayern Insider, Falks was talking about Bayern Munich’s transfer targets when he mentioned that four English clubs (including the Blues) are also involved:
“[Yan] Diomande has a long-term contract at RB Leipzig, until 2030. So, he’s not really cheap. This is why you have to take the interest of Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester City very, very seriously.”
“Of course, we talk about these clubs, and they’re the same outfits that have Said El Mala on the list. They all have the same idea.”
Diomande will not be cheap
As Falk mentions above, the Ivorian international has a very high asking price. It is reported to be as high as €100m (£87m), although some believe Leipzig will accept slightly less than that.

Diomande only made his professional debut for Spanish club Leganes in March and he moved to Germany for €20m last July, but his performances in the Bundesliga and at the African Cup of Nations have turned heads.
El Mala has the profile that Chelsea like
Diomande’s star is rising fast, but the same could be said for the FC Cologne winger. The 19-year-old only started playing for his current club at the start of the season.
Since then, El Mala has scored 6 goals in 17 appearances and has been called up by Germany. He hasn’t received his first cap yet, but he was on the bench for the World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg in November.
The teenager’s asking price is expected to be a lot lower than Diomande’s – potentially around €40m (£35m), and that could tempt Chelsea to the negotiating table.
