Here is a roundup of the top Chelsea news, gossip and transfer latest from icfootballnews featuring the likes of Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, Raheem Sterling and Yan Diomande that you may have missed…
Chelsea Football Club have come out and announced that Academy winger Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The Blues posted on the club website: ‘Kavuma-McQueen joined CHELSEA at Under-8 level and progressed through the Academy to become an exciting and direct wide player. During his schoolboy years, he played a key role in lifting the Under-15 Premier League Floodlit Cup and went on to feature regularly for the Under-18s during the 2024/25 season.
‘That campaign also saw the winger make his Under-21s debut in a 2-0 victory over Manchester United. After signing his Chelsea scholarship in July 2025, Kavuma-McQueen quickly established himself as a regular starter for our Under-21s, scoring in a 5-0 Premier League 2 win against Newcastle United.
‘He has since gained valuable European experience, making his Under-19 UEFA Youth League debut against Bayern Munich and scoring in a 5-2 victory over Benfica. His continued development was recognised with a place on the bench for the men’s UEFA Champions League home win over Ajax.
‘On the international stage, Kavuma-McQueen has represented England at Under-17 level, scoring four times in a thrilling 7-5 victory over Germany in September 2025.
‘Congratulations, Ryan!’

This is massive news for the lad, he has signed that first big contract at a time when there is a chance to get some first team minutes under new boss Liam Rosenior, he must be very excited.
He may never get the chance to play fir CHELSEA on a regular basis, but now that he has signed that contract, he needs to work even harder than he has been because there is so much quality in that Blues side already.
DIOMANDE MESSAGE SENT
ESPN’s resident scout Tor-Kristian Karlsen gives his take on Yan Diomande and tells Chasing Chelsea that the attacker is a nightmare for defenders his ability and skill.
Chelsea have finally managed to secure the services of Liam Rosenior for the next five years after they made the move to get a swoop done, and now the Blues can focus on adding to their squad.
But despite all the quality that CHELSEA has all over the pitch, there has been reports that the Blues have joined the chase alongside Arsenal, Man United and Tottenham in the hunt to try and sign Yan Diomande.
Diomande has established himself as one of the best young prospects in the Bundesliga since joining RB Leipzig from CD Leganes this past summer. and he 19-year-old has been one of the most productive attackers for the Bundesliga club this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 16 outings in all competitions thus far.
And amid the speculation and rumours CHELSEA now want the attacker, Karlsen gives his virdict and tells ESPN: ‘Yan Diomande is arguably the No. 1 breakout stories of the season in European football as the 19-year-old Ivorian has made a huge impact at RB Leipzig after arriving in the summer from Leganes for €20m.
‘His rise comes even more meteoric when you rewind just a few months; he spent only half a season in a struggling LaLiga side — registering only 544 minutes and scoring twice — after joining from US college soccer last January. In his first Bundesliga campaign, Diomande has left a strong mark through the sheer ambition and frequency of his take-ons in the attacking half.
‘It’s the ideal make-up of his skillset that makes him such a nightmare for defenders. There are sharp body feints, a blistering, explosive first step, strong close control and relentless balance and determination.
‘There is also end product to Diomande’s game, he isn’t simply a “take-on” specialist or a source of artistry. He has seven goals in all competitions this season — his ball-striking is precise and neat — and he’s excellent at finishing with his weaker left foot when he cuts inside from the right.
‘While his defensive game — pressing and tracking back — still has room for improvement, it’s easy to see why his explosive development has caught the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
STERLING PUSHING FOR MOVE
Here is the latest Chelsea transfer news and gossip from around the world, as there are now reports in the media which have claimed that Raheem Sterling is seriously considering terminating his contract at Stamford Bridge.
Sterling has been with CHELSEA for a few seasons now, but he never fulfilled the quality that he showed at Manchester City, and his time at the Bridge has been spent mostly on the bench and shifted out on loan.
And according to Corriere dello Sport, Sterling is now seriously intent on leaving London and is looking to resolve a princely contract that has effectively become a “prison” for his career. At 31, the forward is desperate to return to action, and his profile as a versatile attacker appeals to the Napoli hierarchy.
Sterling was a target for the Serie A club during the summer window, and his name has returned to the background as sporting director Giovanni Manna evaluates low-cost opportunities to bolster the squad. However, any move is contingent on Napoli navigating a complex January window defined by strict financial constraints.
IcFootballnews Says…
CHELSEA shot themselves in the foot when they signed Sterling from City as they gave him a massive contract wage that nobody wanted to meet, and that is why they cannot get him off the books.
It would be a shock to see Sterling terminate that contract as he gets around £400k-a-week, and until a club officially makes a move, he will have to wait it out before getting that permanent move away.
Napoli would be a great option for him to make though that is for sure because a move away from the Premier League could help reignite his career, his time in the Premier League is done and he struggles to make any impact.
