Chelsea want to bring striker back to the Premier League

chelsea fc

Chelsea are preparing a mega bid that could be worth as much as ₤130 million to sign Julián Alvarez from Atlético Madrid in the summer.

The Argentine World Cup winner has proven to be a prolific goalscorer since his move to Spain, with 40 goals in 81 games for Diego Simeone’s side, although he is currently experiencing a goal drought.

However, it is believed that he may be tempted by an offer that means he will play in the Premier League again.

He made 67 appearances and won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup, the Champions League and the Club World Cup during his time at Manchester City. However, he moved to Spain where he was guaranteed to be a first-team starter and not have to wait for his minutes behind Erling Haaland.

Although Liam Rosenior has just got his foot in the door at Stamford Bridge, a new striker is regarded as a summer priority for Chelsea who lack a regular goalscorer.
