Leo Castledine has opened up and revealed that he is very excited and delighted after it was confirmed that the midfielder had left Chelsea on a permanent basis during they January transfer window.
Since joining the Terriers on loan in the summer, Castledine has registered 12 goals and five assists across 27 appearances in all competitions, and after a few weeks of talks,
Middlesbrough reached an agreement with CHELSEA over a permanent move for the 20-year-old.
A sell-on clause is believed to have been inserted into the deal, entitling Chelsea to a portion of any fee Middlesbrough collect for selling him and after making the permanent move away from the Blues, Castledine opened up and revealed just how delighted he is.
He said: “I’m absolutely over the moon to join what is a massive, massive club.
“It’s a really big step for me in my career and I’m very excited to be here.
“There’s always been trust in young players at this club if they can perform, and I want to perform at my highest level.
“I’m fit, healthy and I’ve been playing well, so I feel ready to go. I want to help the team as much as I can from the first day.”
IcFootballnews Says….
Castledine is impressing over at Boro and that is why they wanted to make sure that he stayed on a permanent basis, it is a very good move to make for the lad as he could be playing in the Premier League next season.
CHELSEA have so many of the games best talents that losing another one will not make much of a difference, and if Leo really impresses over the next few seasons, they may be able to buy him back for a bargain price.
But again this is a very good move for the lad to make.
