'Useless as always' - Chelsea player slammed for performance vs Charlton

45 minutes into Liam Rosenior's reign as [Chelsea](https://theprideoflondon.com/chelsea-named-favourites-to-sign-world-class-real-madrid-player) boss, there was quite a bit to like about the performance. They seemed a bit more willing to take risks and there were a few good chances created. Ultimately, it was a brilliant strike from Jorrel Hato that sent them into the break with a 1-0 lead.

Rosenior is not a magician though. Of course, problems still exist. There were a few players who were not looking up to the grade, even against lower league opposition.

One of them was Benoit Badiashile. All the positivity around his performance against Liverpool from earlier in the season has evaporated by now.

The Frenchman picked up a yellow card, and was somewhat lucky not to be shown a second. Obviously, there hss been a ton of talk about Chelsea's disciplinary issues in recent times. The last thing that Rosenior can afford on his debut is to see one of his players being sent off.

Badiashile's overall performance was not much to write home about either and a lot of fans seemed frustrated with it. One wrote: "Badiashile useless as always."

Alejandro Garnacho is another player who came in for criticism. Another fan stated: "Badiashile and Garnacho have been absolutely abysmal in this game. Too many times they seem to just gaze into space and lack concentration."

A third said: "Badiashile has been so bad. Genuinely needs to come off before he gets sent off."

Now, nobody can blame Rosenior for experimenting with his team over his first few games to understand what he is working with. But it is safe to say that Badiashile is not someone who has ever looked like a starter for Chelsea.

The Frenchman does have good games here and there, no doubt about it. But for the most part, he is extremely inconsistent and unreliable.

When the team are in control, he looks decent enough, but whenever the pressure is on, he is one of the players who seems to struggle to keep the opposition at bay. Add his poor injury record to the mix, and sooner or later, the club will need to start considering finding a replacement for him in the long run.
