Youngster future secured by CFG in Brazil – Manchester City watching next steps

Manchester City is at the centre of the story involving Ruan Pablo, as Brazilian side Bahia take further steps to protect one of the City Football Group’s key young assets.

According to Globo Esporte, the Brazilian club have renewed the forward’s contract until the end of 2030 after blocking an attempt from another domestic side to sign him.

Rather than entering talks, Bahia chose to strengthen their position. The decision fits the wider strategy inside the City Football Group, where Bahia act as a development platform for elite prospects. The focus stays on long-term planning, not short-term domestic deals.

Ruan Pablo, still only 17, remains firmly on Manchester City’s radar. Club staff continue to monitor his progress closely. He is already known internally after spending time training in Manchester last year, with Pep Guardiola aware of his profile and potential.

His recent performances for Brazil at youth level, including at the U17 World Cup, have reinforced that interest. City view him as a high-upside project within the group, rather than a short-term acquisition.

Under the new deal, Bahia increased the domestic release clause to €18m (£17.5m). The international clause stays at €200m (£169m). Those figures underline the club’s intention to keep control of the player’s pathway.

Ruan Pablo remains protected, valued and developed within the network.
