NBA star given 3-game suspension for trying to fight Luka Doncic off the court

It’s not unheard of for two NBA stars to get into altercations on the court. It’s a contact sport, talking trash is a big part of it, and tempers can flare at any given moment. It is rare, however, for players to take it off the court. In a rare incident, attempting to fight Luka Doncic outside the locker room has led to a suspension for one star.

Doncic is notorious for talking trash while playing. It seems that this went too far for Dennis Schroder of the Sacramento Kings to handle. The German star has been given a 3-game suspension for attempting to hit a Los Angeles Lakers player after the game.

While the initial statement does not name the player Schroder went after, an ESPN report added color to the situation.

“Forty minutes after the buzzer, Schroder went after Doncic, telling Doncic that he can’t call him a ‘b***h’ on the court and pretend everything is fine off the court,” Anthony Slater wrote for ESPN. “The NBA concluded that Schroder attempted to strike Doncic.

Schroder and Doncic had clashed verbally during the game, too. In fact, the Sacramento man was overheard telling Luka that he would beat him up. That Schroder actually tried is truly wild, and a three game suspension does suggest that his attempt was at least partially successful, too.
