Reports have claimed Chelseacould on alert for a possible deal for Marc-Andre Ter Stegen after the goalkeeper decided he wants to leave Barcelona this January window.
Much-maligned current No.1 Robert Sanchez has seen his stock rise over the last year or so, but the position is still widely viewed as a weak point that needs to be strengthened, while Filip Jorgensen has reportedly asked for a move away from the club.
The Blues pushed hard to sign Ter Stegen in previous windows, but have been unable to make a move as the German star always wanted to stay put at Barcelona and fight for his place in the side.
Now, with his career in purgatory, Ter Stegen is open to leaving the club and getting his spot back in the national team. According to SPORT,
The player has fallen out of favour at the club under the management of fellow countryman Hansi Flick and is below Joan Garcia and Wojciech Szczesny in the pecking order between the sticks, yet could find a way to kickstart his career elsewhere
The goalkeeper is reportedly determined to find his way back into Julian Nagelsmann’s World Cup plans and is seeking a move for the next six months in order to guarantee his place in that world cup squad.
IcChelseanews Says…
Ter Stegen is a player that CHELSEA have always been linked with, and a few seasons ago he would have been a brilliant addition to the side, but not anymore and i dont think a move will actually happen
