Time could be running out for Liverpool to bring in an exciting player who has been approached by his current club to extend his contract.
Almost two weeks into the January transfer window, Liverpool have done little to add to the squad after a summer of spending.
Despite such a serious outlay, especially in the forward areas, there was a player who the Reds missed out on and who has been linked with a move to Anfield ever since.

PSG start contract talks with Bradley Barcola amid Liverpool interest
Champions League winners PSG are making every effort to avoid losing Bradley Barcola, and have been trying to lock him down to a deal in Paris for a while now.
Liverpool like Barcola a lot, and Arne Slot has hinted at wanting the PSG star in recent weeks.
Knowing this, the Parisian club has reacted by making an approach to their star winger’s representatives.

As Fabrice Hawkins reveals for RMC Sport: “The Dembélé file isn’t the only one opened by the Parisian management, since, according to information from RMC Sport, Bradley Barcola has also been offered a contract.
“The 23-year-old, also under contract with the club until 2028, and his representatives have not yet responded to this offer. Negotiations had already begun with the former Lyon player’s agents. These had stalled and resumed at the start of the season with the new agent – the same one as Ousmane Dembélé.”
It’s hard to predict whether the Frenchman will be tempted by this offer. He is second-choice at the moment behind Kvicha Kvaratskhelia — he would walk into Slot’s side.
Barcola is the perfect wide player for Liverpool
Barcola could be Mohamed Salah’s long-term successor at Anfield. While he is yet to respond to the offer, there is every chance he agrees to it before the end of the season.
If the Reds are serious about signing him, it might be one to bring forward to January.
Able to play on both sides like Antoine Semenyo, he offers versatility, individual quality and a very respectable goal output.

So far this season, he has five. Last campaign he managed 21 and 18 assists as well.
Liverpool aren’t tipped to make big moves this January, but they could come to regret that if Barcola is locked down by PSG.
