All the talk has been around Liam Rosenior’s first week as Chelsea manager, but in the background, the January transfer window is ongoing and the Blues may become active.
Rosenior’s tenure is approaching a week, and the former Strasbourg and Hull manager will have certainly identified Chelsea’s problem areas. They need a goalkeeper and better options in the middle of defence.
Robert Sanchez has not managed to win the trust of fans, and while Filip Jorgensen got away with being in possession 40 yards from goal last night, Rosenior won’t have been convinced of Chelsea’s stoppers.
What are your first impressions of Liam Rosenior’s tactics following Chelsea’s FA Cup win against Charlton?

Then, at centre-back, Chelsea need strengthening. Trevor Chalobah basically gifted Raul Jimenez the space of the Chelsea box to score last week, and on Saturday, Pat Nevin criticised Benoit Badiashile.
A new centre-back should be on the radar for Chelsea this month, if they do decide to enter the market and according to reports, the Blues have been keeping an eye on one of Cesc Fabregas’ best signings.
Chelsea eye Como defender but face hefty competition
Having made just six senior appearances for Madrid’s first team, Como spent just £2m to sign Jacobo Ramon last summer. Since then, he has established himself as one of Serie A’s best young defenders.

Clocking up 16 Serie A appearances this season, Como have only lost three times when Ramon has played. The Spain U21 defender has scored twice, and helped Fabregas’ men keep eight clean sheets.
Fabregas has made some top signings at Como – including Assane Diao, Nico Paz and Maxence Caqueret from Lyon. But in terms of value for money, Ramon has got to be right up there given his bargain fee.
Caught Offside claim Chelsea are among the clubs to show interest in Ramon, as have Tottenham and Liverpool. Newcastle, Brighton and Palace have sent scouts to watch Ramon in action in recent months.
If Chelsea only make one signing in January, who should it be?👀

Why Real Madrid are leading the race for their former star
Bought for just £2m, the report indicates that Como would consider offers north of £15m for their star defender. Especially, given Ramon only turned 21 earlier this week. This is a player with huge potential.
But Madrid are leading all three Premier League clubs in the race for Ramon’s signature due to a clause inserted in Ramon’s contract when he was sold to Como last summer. They can buy him for £7m.
Whether Madrid are interested remains to be seen, but it could hinge on Antonio Rudiger. The Germany star is out of contract in the summer, and Ray Parlour has suggested Chelsea bring Rudiger home.
A central defence of Ramon and Rudiger would certainly bolster Chelsea and improve the options they currently have in the middle of the back line. Whether Chelsea enter the January window, who knows.
