Liverpool might need to delve into the January transfer market following another injury setback. Arne Slot has been dealt a severe blow with the news that defender Conor Bradley is now sidelined for the season after sustaining an injury in the midweek 0-0 draw against Arsenal.
Liverpool maintained their unbeaten streak against the Gunners, but the line for their treatment room is growing longer each week. The Reds are facing a shortage of players both in defence and attack.
Mo Salah is currently representing Egypt at the Africa Cup of Nations, Alexander Isak is out for a while due to injury, and even Hugo Ekitike has recently been missing due to a minor fitness issue.
Today's news brings a positive update on Liverpool's long-term target Marc Guehi, while a Reds star is reportedly seeking a departure from Anfield.
Marc Guehi's preference
Guehi reportedly favours a move to Arsenal or Liverpool over Manchester City. Guehi nearly made the switch to Anfield last summer, before the proposed deal fell through.
The centre-back's contract is due to expire in 2026. Palace manager Oliver Glasner has admitted that he could leave Selhurst Park this month if a significant offer were to be made.

While teams like the Reds, City and Bayern Munich have long been linked with the star, Arsenal have also reportedly entered the race, with The Athletic suggesting City are trailing behind Liverpool and Arsenal in the pursuit of the 25-year-old.
The report also suggested that Guehi is content to delay any decision about his future until the summer, with his next club potentially being a straight shootout between Liverpool and Arsenal.
The Gunners had shown interest in Guehi last summer, before ultimately securing Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia, whilst Piero Hincapie also joined on loan from Bayer Leverkusen.
Star 'wants out'
According to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa is eager to depart Anfield and return to Juventus this month.
The Euro 2020 winner has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter under Slot's management. Chiesa has contributed two goals and three assists across 20 appearances in all competitions this season.

Speaking last month, Slot was asked about the Liverpool fan favourite. He said: "Every player has a possibility to start, but we have many options to start in his position. He is having his impact coming of the bench a few times."
To facilitate Chiesa's return, it's understood that Juventus would need to pay approximately £8.9m, having received £13.3m from his transfer to Liverpool in 2024.
Liverpool are reportedly only willing to consider a permanent sale, dismissing the possibility of a loan arrangement with an option to buy. Chiesa himself is said to be rejecting other approaches, having only shown interest in a potential return to Juventus.
