It has only been a few games since Enzo Maresca left the club, but Hato has looked like a different player. There is more confidence to his game and the quality of his defending has been at a higher level.

It is unlikely that he will replace Marc Cucurella, who is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League.

However, it has been claimed that Manchester City are keen on signing Cucurella. If he leaves Stamford Bridge, the 19-year-old could be his successor.

Jorrel Hato deserves fan recognition

It is great to see Hato getting some praise. It is warranted after his last few displays, but it is also needed.

The Netherlands international’s move to Chelsea has not been easy. He is a 19-year-old playing in another country for the first time.

Hato also had a nightmare performance against Qarabag in the Champions League, which would have hit his confidence.

However, he seems to have bounced back from that, with supporters seeing his improvement.
